August is one of the best months to get out and enjoy Greater Victoria. Long evenings, warm weather, and a calendar full of community events make it an ideal time to explore a new neighbourhood, support local businesses, or simply spend more time outside.

As always, this isn’t a complete list, just a collection of some of the events and traditions we look forward to each summer. Whether you’re searching for live music, food festivals, cultural celebrations, or family-friendly activities, we hope you find something to enjoy.

CRD Community Events

Throughout August 2026

The Capital Regional District offers a full calendar of free community programs throughout August. Join a guided nature walk, unwind with Yoga in the Park at Tulista Park, bring the kids to Play in the Park activities, or explore local parks through self-guided walks and educational programs. It’s a wonderful way to experience Greater Victoria’s parks while learning more about the region’s natural and cultural history.

David Foster Foundation 40th Anniversary Free Harbour Concert

Saturday, August 8, 2026

Celebrate 40 years of the David Foster Foundation with a free public concert in Victoria’s Inner Harbour. The evening will feature David Foster alongside special guest performers and the Victoria Symphony in a waterfront performance celebrating four decades of supporting Canadian families through pediatric organ transplants. Seating is first come, first served, so arriving early is recommended.

Cadboro Bay Festival

This long-running community celebration brings together live music, local vendors, family activities, and plenty of reasons to spend the day by the beach. It’s a wonderful excuse to explore Cadboro Bay Village and one of Greater Victoria’s most scenic waterfront neighbourhoods.

Market on the Green

Spend the day exploring the beautiful South Lawn at Craigdarroch Castle during Market on the Green. Featuring more than 30 local vendors, live music, theatre performances, face painting, coffee, and food, it’s a wonderful opportunity to support local makers while enjoying one of Victoria’s most iconic historic properties.

Whether you’re browsing handmade goods, enjoying the entertainment, or simply taking in the castle grounds, it’s a great event for all ages.

Picklefest Victoria

If you love pickles, fermentation, or discovering unique local food vendors, Picklefest is worth adding to your calendar. This one-day festival brings together more than 35 vendors offering everything from pickled vegetables and fermented foods to artisan products, beverages, and live entertainment. It’s an all-ages event with plenty to sample throughout the day.

Flavour Trails Festival

August 15 & 16, 2026

Discover farms, wineries, cideries, bakeries, and food producers across the Saanich Peninsula during this self-guided culinary festival. Meet local growers, sample regional products, and explore destinations that are often only open during special events.
