October brings a different kind of fun to Greater Victoria. Pumpkins appear on doorsteps, local farms transform for Halloween, and some of the city’s historic streets become the setting for ghost stories and evening tours.
There are plenty of ways to enjoy the season beyond Halloween night itself. From haunted mini golf and spooky markets to pumpkin patches, creative workshops and family-friendly community events, the second half of October has lots to offer.
We’ve rounded up a few Halloween activities happening around Greater Victoria this year, whether you’re looking for something to do with the kids, an evening out with friends or simply an excuse to get into the Halloween spirit.
Ghostly Walks: Halloween Tours of Downtown Victoria
October 1 – November 1 | Downtown Victoria
Victoria has no shortage of ghost stories, and October is a particularly fitting time to hear a few of them.
Ghostly Walks takes visitors through the historic streets of downtown Victoria, sharing stories of mysterious encounters, local legends and some of the city’s darker history.
The Halloween tours offer a seasonal take on the experience, combining storytelling with a walk through Old Town after dark. Even if you’ve lived in Victoria for years, it’s an interesting way to learn more about the buildings and places you pass regularly.
Tours run on select dates throughout October and into early November. Some stories may be a little much for younger children, so it’s worth checking before booking.
Haunted Manor: A Spooky Round of Mini Golf
September 21 – November 3 | 711 Yates Street, Downtown Victoria
For something a little different, downtown Victoria’s Haunted Manor is getting into the Halloween spirit with its seasonal Legends of Halloween II experience.
This indoor attraction features 18 holes of mini golf through a series of elaborately themed rooms, complete with atmospheric lighting, sound effects and interactive surprises.
It’s already a fun place to visit throughout the year, but the additional Halloween decorations make October a particularly good time to go. A nice option for a date night, an outing with friends or families with children who enjoy a little spooky fun.
