Things to do in Victoria, BC in March

2024 Edition!

Sunshine, cherry blossoms, and community—March in Victoria, BC brings a welcomed lightness and shift in energy.

Celebrate Spring’s Arrival

March 19 marks the first day of Spring! Our city is known for a spectacular cherry blossom season, with dreamy seas of pink flowers lining the streets. Check out this post by Tourism Victoria for some of the best places to see cherry blossoms in Victoria, BC.

Another sign of Spring in Victoria, BC is the reopening of Barb’s Fish and Chips in Fisherman’s Wharf Park! Barb’s is celebrating their 40th year and remains a beloved spot in our city. Recognized by the Times Colonist Readers’  Choice Awards for the best fish and chips, you’ll be able to satisfy your craving for delicious fresh seafood at their location re-opening on March 14.

Revel in the breath-taking diversity of wildlife with the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition coming to the Royal BC Museum from March 1 to June 2. One hundred photos from photographers all across the world showcase the wonder of the natural world while raising awareness for wildlife advocacy and conservation.

The Spring Garden is beginning to bloom at The Butchart Gardens. A brilliant display of flowers isn’t  the only thing you can find at The Gardens in March. Each year from Good Friday to Easter Monday, children age 17 and under are invited to spot the locations of 10 hidden ceramic bunnies, with a special map to mark their locations provided at the admission gate.

When it comes to sweet treats, mini egg-everything says Spring is on the scene. Run, don’t walk, to get your hands on 49 Below Craft Ice Cream Mini Egg Mini Cake.

International Women’s Day Weekend by Oaklands Community Association at Oaklands Community Centre (March 8-10): Celebrate International Women’s Day with a weekend of events featuring an Arts & Crafts Mixer, International Women’s Fair, and Women’s Workshops.
